Dough-NUTS!!!

DOUGH-NUTS is the only way I can describe my kids. I am not talking cookie dough either, that would be a little more understandable. But these kids go crazy over anything with flour. Sunday I made one of their favorites chicken and dumpling soup. As soon as they hear the bowl hit the counter they are at my feet. I had to keep telling them to move back so I could have room to roll out the dough. I always double my recipe for the dumplings because that is all they want. After I get them made I always save some raw for them, they prefer raw to cooked. They lick the counter were I rolled out the dough!! It is mostly flour but they love it, YUCK!!

My poor children are starving please send money!!!!! J/K

Taytum the Fashionista!

I have been a little preoccupied lately ( I'll explain below), but the other day we couldn't find Taytum. She had been in the house for a while but nobody had seen her, (I get very nervous when a child is quiet and hiding). We went upstairs and found her laying on her bed. She changed from her school clothes to her prettier clothes, and the reason she was so quiet was that she had snuck into my closet and gotten my boots. This kid is so funny about looking good. She loves to dress fancy and pretend to be a grown up.

I don't buy expensive things, in fact I didn't even buy these, my mom bought these boots for me for Christmas a couple of years ago, they were very expensive(for me at least) and Taytum is like a moth to a flame. She knows quality and is very excited to grow up so she can get into my clothes, she is going to be a little disappointed.
The reason I have been a little preoccupied is when I got home in the summer all my friends were talking about this series, so I decided to jump on the bandwagon. I LOVE LOVE to read, even if my family hates it because they get ignored, oh well they'll get over it. Once I pick up a book I don't usually put it down until I am done. I really like this series. My friend gave me all four books in the series at once so as hard as I try to slow down I can't. I run around all morning getting my work done so I can read in the afternoon.

Back Together Again!!!

It was a fun summer and I definitely looked forward to getting the older girls in school. I didn't realize how much I missed just me and Payge together by ourselves. I love having her all to myself. We are very slow movers in the morning, it takes us half the morning to get out of our pj's. We like to sit and watch cartoons and hug, then play and tickle a little while, and then have very interesting conversations throughout the day. She is allot of fun to be around and likes to make me laugh. I will miss my little paygie when she goes to school next year. This should be a fun year for us though, because Reyse is old enough to join in on our fun, and occupy Payge when I need to get things done.
I love my Paygie!!

One of our typical breakfasts, one of the only one's I will let them eat on the couch.
One of Payge's favorite past times is to listen and dance to her favorite music. She loves my Celtic Women Christmas CD. She likes the intense songs the best.
This is part of her dance routine she makes me watch!!
Reyse is getting very mobile. She is allot of fun as well. She just walks all over the house and finds her own fun, she is very independent, I LOVE IT! She is such a good baby, she hardly ever fusses, and loves to play with Payge and her friends.
She tries to help with the chores as well.

A Little Weekend Update!!

I forgot my camera this weekend so I have no pictures, but it was a pretty exciting weekend so I'll just have to write about it.

Friday our city put on a movies in the park. They had a big air screen and showed Ratatouille(sp), anyways it was in a big park with huge trees that shaded everything,. We bought a pizza and ate it there. Then had candy and stuff when the movie started. Once it got dark we noticed all these lightning bugs, or whatever they are called. Their behinds light up like flashlights, it was awesome. I don't think that I've ever seen them before. The kids were amazed. It didn't get over until a little after nine. The kids fell asleep in the car.

Saturday was an interesting day. Hurricane Ike approached the Galveston area on the coast, and headed towards Houston, then us. Luckily it veered off tho the east so we just got wind and rain. Baylee played her game at around noon to just a light sprinkle but the clouds looked bizarre swirling overhead. Baylee played awesome and scored two goals. Their team won 5-1.

Later we had soup and rolls and watched the crazy weather outside. It was nice and cozy in our strong brick house. Sorry Big Bad Wolf!

My Baby's Potty Trained!!

Can you believe it Reyse at ten months old is pooty trained! Not really, last week she had a raging diaper rash, and diariah that wouldn't stop. We couldn't use baby wipes on her even, we had to hold her under the faucet to clean her. Well the experts said to let her run around without a diaper on so it could get some air. But after she peed numerous times, and pooped a couple times,(which stains white carpet really well) we thought we would put some panties on her to at least contain some.

The kids thought it was funny to see her in them, Reyse liked them as well, so I had to take a couple of pics.

Don't worry that is water on her shirt not pee pee!

Taytum's Toofless

It has taken Taytum forever to loose her first tooth, in fact, she already has a grown one in behind the baby one. These two bottom teeth have been loose for a while now but yesterday when she went to school right before lunch she lost the first one. She was very excited but she wanted the other one to fall out the same day as well. When I asked her why she wanted it out so fast she said, "Because I want two dollars from the tooth fairy so I can buy these white sunglasses at the mall." Oh, Brother!

Later after school our neighbor came over to play and pulled it out for her, she was so excited!

YUCK, can you see the other tooth already in behind the holes?
The next morning, Taytum was very happy to receive her first visit from the tooth fairy!
Watch out mall, here comes Taytum!!!!

Bye-Bye Saturdays!

Friday night were the opening ceremonies for Soccer season. All the teams are suppose to line up in their uniforms and parade onto the field for everyone to watch. Payge's team The Unicorns were all ready. I made the sign a little big, but their were suppose to be six girls and only three made it. They had a very hard time marching with the giant poster.

Baylee's Team the Lady Cats didn't want to do it, they are too cool I guess, but it is fun to watch all the little ones!
As the teams march out some of them throw candy, this was Reyse's favorite part. She was very content to sit as long as she had her sucker.
What posers, I am very scared for the teen years!
After a fun scrimmage between the coaches and the officials they capped the night off with lots of fireworks. Sports are definitely a BIG deal in Texas.
Saturday morning the games begun. I can't get alot of pictures of them playing because my camera isn't fast enough. But this was a funny shot. while they wait for the goalie to kick the ball the girls usually play this little me first with the other team, were one keeps getting in front of the other and they forget to pay attention to the ball. We told Baylee stop doing that and just sit behind her and at the last moment jump in front and get the ball, she won't see it coming. So this is Baylee using our advice. Worked well to! Baylee ended up scoring to goals and they won 4-2
Payge's game was later that day, she also scored two goals, and they won 17-2. We have a girl on our team that is a little older and very good, she scored about 11 goals. The other team wanted to check her birth certificate. It was her birthday that day, she turned 5. Payge turned 4 two months ago, hence the age difference. She did so good and best of all she enjoyed it!

Labor Day of Fun!!

So we all threw a last minute day of fun together, which turned out to be allot of fun. Us and three other families met at the park to play kickball. It was only about 95 degrees and 80 percent humidity, but what the heck.

Payge and Taytum didn't want to play, they played on the play equipment for the first hour, then figured out that we were having allot of fun and decided to try. Run Payge!!
Do you think Baylee was into it or what!
Taytum surprised us all, she was out running the boys.
Safe at Home!

Chick-fil-a was having a promo that if you wear a football logo they will give you three free chicken strips. So all of us ran home found everything we could for the adults and the children, and went for lunch. There was our family of 5(not counting Reyse) Montono's family of 5, Logsdons family of 5(with two extra kids in toe), and Boyle's family of two. Are we still poor college students or what? We splurged on a couple of sodas and fries to split, not bad?

After that filling lunch we headed to the community pool and swam. It was a way to end our hot day!

Is she not the cutest thing you have ever seen?
Gabe and the guys played football!

The girls sat around and talked!
All in all it was tons of fun hanging out with friends, by the way guess what we did for dinner? Chick-fil-a! After we were done swimming we still had our football gear in the car so we swung by a different restaurant and got more free chicken, I did go home and make a big salad and slice the chicken on top.
Were terrible!!! but you can't beat free, I thought Gabe was going to try to go back at midnight for more, but even he was a little sick of chicken by then.
It's a miracle!!
